SAE Institute acquires Harbourside Institute of Technology

SAE Institute has announced the acquisition of Canadian audio engineering school, Harbourside Institute of Technology (HIT). The acquisition was finalized and made effective on May 1, 2017.

Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Harbourside Institute of Technology is a boutique school with programs in Audio Engineering and Music Production, as well as highly specialized courses in Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Songwriting, Live Sound, and more. The institute is an Avid Learning Partner, and one of only a few Ableton certified Audio Engineering and Music Production schools in Canada.

In addition to its industry partnerships and certifications, Harbourside Institute of Technology holds both the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) and Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) designations.

Harbourside Institute of Technology will integrate into the SAE Institute USA system, and the region will transition under the umbrella of SAE Institute North America.
