Music Producer / Boom Operator
SAE Institute Vancouver
Doryan Heijnen
Going through the Audio Engineering and Music Production program at SAE Vancouver has been such a rewarding and beneficial experience for me! I enrolled in the program having a huge interest in music production but was lacking a lot of the skills and know-how of doing it. The team at SAE provided me with so much relevant experience and theory which I would have struggled to achieve on my own.

After graduating I upgraded my audio skills into an additional career path as one in the film and television world as a boom operator and post-production sound mixer. I never would have imagined this for myself, but after being introduced to this wonderful world at SAE I decided to go for it. My schooling didn't end when the course finished. The teachers and staff continued to help and support me in achieving my goals in my career path by offering equipment rentals until I could afford my own, providing me with tips on how to do certain things on a film set, how to properly set up my field recorder, and so much more.

For anyone considering this program, I would highly recommend it! Additionally, I would highly recommend putting the work and time into the course material, as you're getting as much out of the program as you put in, and the knowledgable staff and supportive classmates are there to help you the whole way.
