Bio
Alan Ruiz is a Colombian musician whose style has been influenced by different genres such as Jazz, Classical, Latin, and Rock. Alan started his musical journey at age 10 when he found an abandoned guitar at his grandparents’ house. In 2012, he decided to start a career in music abroad and moved to Vancouver B.C. where he studied classical guitar with Michael Strutt and Jazz and contemporary guitar at VCC School of music. In 2020 he joined SAE institute and graduated from the Audio Engineering and Music Production program.
After finishing his studies he has been active as a music producer, session player, and music teacher.
He is highly involved in the local music community and has performed in different venues and festivals ( Orpheum theater, Harmony arts, Mission Folk fest, Carnaval del sol, Foro del Tejedor in Mexico city…) with multiple artists such as Adonis Puentes, John Welsh, and Los Valientes, Coco Jafro, Salsahall Collective, Los Duendes and more.
